Purpose Campaigns is a small team of international media and strategy professionals working to advance progressive causes. Since 2004, the team behind Purpose Campaigns has undertaken several path-breaking projects at the intersection of technology, media and advocacy.

The team's recent work includes advising a major European presidential candidate, co-founding Avaaz.org - a new global online advocacy group, establishing GetUp.org.au - Australia's leading multi-issue campaign organization, designing the internet mobilization strategy for a national labor federation, and developing the paid and earned media strategy for a major progressive campaign group during the 2004 US presidential elections.

Purpose Campaigns is led by Jeremy Heimans and David Madden. Heimans and Madden, both graduates of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, have a long history of involvement with innovative uses of internet and new media for business and social purposes. In 2006, Heimans and Madden were named one of the "Top 10 People who are Changing the World of Politics and the Internet" by Politics Online and the World E-Government Forum.
